Annie James Irby

Mrs.Annie James Irby born on August 21,1941. On Friday July 5,2024 at 1:30pm Mrs.Annie James Irby got a flight out of this earthly home.

 Mrs Annie J. Irby was preceded in death by her parents: Mr.James Jackson and Mrs.Pearlie B.Elliot Knight,two sisters:Minnie Ferrell and Willie Mae Spann, two brothers: Robert Knight and Leroy Knight. 

Annie was the first child of nine.She was baptized under Rev.Steele but continued  coming and worshiping until her health failed.Annie was born with the name Evelyn Elliot.She was adopted at 6 weeks old to Ms.Annie Bell Simon. After her adoption her name was changed to Annie James Jackson Simon. After growing up in Bessemer and going to Pipe Shop School during her elementary time. Later she went to Brighton High School and finished in 1960. During  her adult life she met the love of her life, the late Mr. Andre Lee Irby Sr., they married in December 1963. During their marriage they had eight loving children;Lacasta Irby Bessemer, AL;Latrisa Irby, Bessemer, AL,Andrew Jr.(Shelia), McCalla, AL, Andre (Rachelle), West End, AL;Victor Irby Bessemer, AL ,Carlos (Felicia) Calera, AL ;Alicia (John) Hueytown, AL ;Henrietta,Hueytown, AL and Brenda (Charles)Orrville,AL.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three Sisters ;Berthia (Earl);Marie Tuscaloosa ,and Louise Pettway  of North Port, Tuscaloosa,and brother Jacob (Carol )Knight Stockton ,California;twelve grandchildren ,three great-grandsons and host of nieces ,nephews and cousins and other relatives and friends.
